Default Child dies in car

This is insane, baby sitters stick a 2 year old in the car when it's a 40c humidex day, and leave him there in the heat.

Parents were at work while kiddy was being looked after by an extended family member in Milton, Ontario.

This has happened a number of times in my memory in Canada and the USA, and I suspect other countries also.

Revolting. Beyond revolting.

No criminal charges have been laid. There would have been if it was a dog.

They doing a postmortem on the boy today to find out how a 2 year old who was left in a car for hours in 100* heat without any water, died.

Hmm, I wonder what the results will be ?

Maybe then they will press for "death by misadventure" or something just as stupid.

We seem to have cross-posted.

What are the odds we will find out that the babysitter was drunk/stoned? Probably quite high, I'd say.

Maybe not, maybe the kid was just grumpy, crying, and putting him in the car was a way to shut him up ? Maybe ?

Maybe they did this every day, and no one knew, till now !!!!

What kind of person leaves a 2year old locked alone in a car at any time regardless if the weather?

PS, a PM will show any .other injuries

This happens much more frequently than one cares to imagine, and it has nothing to do with social standing or education. Sometimes people's lives are so busy that their focus becomes concentrated elsewhere. It is very easy to condemn and sometimes justified but I don't/refuse to believe that anyone does this out of malice towards a child and some compassion is warranted for the person(s) responsible.

Awful.

I wonder if the sitter took the child out in the car and when they fell asleep were reluctant to disturb them, so left them there rather than have a screaming, miserable and tired toddler.

I don't believe it was malicious, more a case of ignorance - it was a family member so unlikely they would have wished the child harm.

I suspect they will never forgive themselves.

Agreed, they must be so sad that this has occurred, but, it must be avoidable, it's hot at the mo in this area, i mean really hot, its noticable, how can a 2 year old be forgotten and left in the car? Ok left for 10 mins while putting shopping in kitchen or taking the dog in let's say, but for an extended period of time? Few hours maybe, Some thing ain't right !!!

And no charges. !!!! As its been said, if it was a dog then:
