Child dies in car
This is insane, baby sitters stick a 2 year old in the car when it's a 40c humidex day, and leave him there in the heat.
Parents were at work while kiddy was being looked after by an extended family member in Milton, Ontario.

Re: Child dies in car
This has happened a number of times in my memory in Canada and the USA, and I suspect other countries also.

Revolting. Beyond revolting.
No criminal charges have been laid. There would have been if it was a dog.

Hmm, I wonder what the results will be ?
Maybe then they will press for "death by misadventure" or something just as stupid.

Re: Child dies in car
What are the odds we will find out that the babysitter was drunk/stoned? Probably quite high, I'd say.

Re: Child dies in car
What kind of person leaves a 2year old locked alone in a car at any time regardless if the weather?
PS, a PM will show any .other injuries

This happens much more frequently than one cares to imagine, and it has nothing to do with social standing or education. Sometimes people's lives are so busy that their focus becomes concentrated elsewhere. It is very easy to condemn and sometimes justified but I don't/refuse to believe that anyone does this out of malice towards a child and some compassion is warranted for the person(s) responsible.

Re: Child dies in car
Awful.
I wonder if the sitter took the child out in the car and when they fell asleep were reluctant to disturb them, so left them there rather than have a screaming, miserable and tired toddler.
I don't believe it was malicious, more a case of ignorance - it was a family member so unlikely they would have wished the child harm.
I suspect they will never forgive themselves.
