Me too. I don't even know which is which based on those criteria.

Oshawa and Mississauga (and pretty much anywhere else in the 905) are more or less identikit clones.

I suppose the next question has to be "what's the difference in the population?". Do you have the idea that one's a haven for redneck cradles and the other some sort of ghetto? If so, which is which?

Both are equally as shit and I wouldn't waste my time or money moving from one dump (Basildon) to another. I refer to Basildon as more similar to Oshawa based on the population, the proximity to Toronto (similar distance as Basildon to London) Oshawa's main economic income is the auto industry (or was...not so sure in this new economic crisis) Basildon has a large New Holland tractor plant that brings a big chunk of change into the town...and Oshawa, unlike Missisauga has a rugby team. That is why I compare the 2 to each other...being as I grew up in Bas and spend a fair bit of time in the Shwa. No need to blow this all out of proportion and start chirping back and foward. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and thats mine.

I suppose I concede the car connection though the Ford plant, while technically in Oakville, employs lots of Mississauga residents. I guess if you think Oshawa and Mississauga are different then fair enough, any difference is too subtle for me.

A number of years ago I had the misfortune of being acquainted with someone from Oshawa. He referred to it as "The Dirty Shwa".

You are so not down with the kids.

Thank goodness.

Even though we are within spitting distance of the Shwa I have never heard anyone call it that.
