Re: Celebrity sightings.
I stood beside Neve Campbell at Pearson when I was about 12. Not sure it counts as "meeting", but at the time I was big into the Scream movies, so I thought it was super cool, even though we didn't exchange any words.
I went to a load of tapings for "The Apprentice: You're Fired" including one Finale episode, so I got to see Dara O'Brien, Lord Sugar, Karren Brady, and Nick Hewer a few times. Again, no meeting, but it was pretty cool to get to go, especially for the finale! I did meet George Strombolopolous a few years ago, as well as Dan Levy (son of Eugene Levy) at a youth leadership conference I used to be involved with. And I've seen Donovan Bailey around Oakville but he's a massive d*ck so never actually spoke to him as he doesn't have time for any of that nonsense. |
Re: Celebrity sightings.
I was once in St Thomas's Hospital in London, following an operation, at the same time Matthew Kelly was in there with a broken leg. I had to trundle a drip around with me so I wasn't the strongest or had both hands free at any one time. Anyway, I went through some of those double swing doors and saw someone in a wheelchair coming down the corridor. They had their hands full of wheels, so to help I rather feebly held the door open for them. You can guess what happened next. The door slipped from my grasp, the leg made it through before it swung shut, but the wheelchair and Matthew Kelly didn't.
The conversation was, initially at least, brief. But then, to his credit, seeing my state, and the fact I'd made the effort in the first place, he saw the funny side. I can't say we became firm friends, but I at least got to meet him! |

I saw Owen Wilson in Coal Harbour the other day.
When I was younger I met (and spoke to): Dannii Minogue, Paul King (MTV VJ), Jimmy Sommerville, Pet Shop Boys, some others that I've now forgotten. Also lots of tennis players who then weren't famous and were playing in small, 'satellite' tournaments, but are a bit bigger now. |
Re: Celebrity sightings.
I've met some famous people and chatted with some of them, but a gentleman never tells.

Re: Celebrity sightings.
I'm never very good at recognizing celebs, I know that I knwcthe face but never know where from do I say hello anyway. They usually smile then whoever I was with would tell me " me that was so and so."
Otherwise, in the course of work I've xrayed a fair few Hollywood and or TV stars, rock stars, politicians, royalty, opera singers, authors, sports people, titled gits etc. |

I know, especially now. There's quite a few in my building and they seem pretty pissed off I don't say anything, but I don't go to the pictures or watch those dreadful American reality shows where they're looking for gold or chopping down trees.

Re: Celebrity sightings.
Elizabeth Taylor in an elevator in Leningrad, 1975 ...... she was making a movie there.
She was gorgeous, even wearing a white towelling dressing gown and a white towel wrapped round her hair. and no, we didn't speak ............. we all pretended that we didn't know her  I've met (and spent more than one evening drinking with) David Bellamy, the British TV botanist. He was invited to be the keynote speaker a a botanical meeting in New Brunswick, and seemed to enjoy spending his off time with OH and I. I saw John Diefenbaker in the early 1970s in the baggage pick-up area of the airport in Saskatchewan I worked with David Tarrant, the Canadian TV Gardener, for over 30 years |
