I'll put Bernadette Nolan on my list now. Seems mean of me somehow but I am going to do it nonetheless.

Oh I don't know about mean - seems somehow appropriate, given the amount of vitriol spilt on the demise of Thatcher, that you replace her with somebody most famous for singing "I'm in the mood for dancing." ;)

I'm still thinking about my replacement player. Don't want anyone too old, the points aren't worth it, but there has to be a reasonable chance of them popping their clogs without stooping to the goal-hanging antics of dbd :p

I stopped short of taking Wilko Johnson, for reasons of good taste. You could ghoulishly hang on his last strum.

Hmmm. Tossing up the virtues of assorted Middle Eastern and North African leaders. Morsi, Assad, Ahmadinejad, Jalal Talabani, Hamid Karzai, Mohamed Magarief, Abdelaziz Boutelfika, Omar al-Bashir... or there's always the (hopefully not literally) nuclear option of Kim Jong-Un.

He's my joker and is probably worth a lot of points. If he dies I get a potentially game winning lead.

So the following still need to give a replacement nominee for the death pool...

Flossie & Jim
Oakvillian
London-England-Lads

By the way I equally disrespectfully chose Iain Banks and he is also my new Joker...

Right then, decision time... I'm going to go for Hamid Karzai. I mean, that nice Mr Harper's just reversed his own Defence minister's decision to reduce the danger pay of Canadian service personnel in Afghanistan. Perhaps he knows something we don't?
