Re: Cat concerns
Passing by to check if there are any updates on Smokey. I hope he's doing better :fingerscrossed: This catmilk sounds good, that he's keeping it down is excellent :fingerscrossed: he pulls through. Hope you found the Nutrical.

Re: Cat concerns
Not got Nutrical yet.
OH and self have been syringing 30 mil of "catmilk" into Smokey every hour. He's beginning to fight a lttle so I see that as good news. And when he's all healthy again he'll go back to ignoring me! |
Re: Cat concerns
WEll... Smokey didn't get better, and today we said "Goodbye" to him.

Re: Cat concerns
Sorry to hear that TG. I have cats and I know how tough it can be to lose one.

Ohh, poor thing, poor you. Did he just fade away in his sleep or did you have to make the awful decision?
Thats so sad. I had my four year old with me (he didn't go into the treatment room obviously - he stayed and flirted wiht the receptionist!). I told him Smokey had been ill, and we couldn't make him better, so we had to let him go to Cat Heaven. He said: Are you sure Smokey is in Cat Heaven? I said: Yes, that's where he is. He said: Great, that means we can get another cat! Can I call him Baby Tiger! There was me thinking he was going to be all upset! |

Re: Cat concerns
I had a wonderful vet in Montreal who once told me that a cold is disastrous for a cat, because if they cannot smell food they will not eat it, and then they become dehydrated and can die. I used to foster orphaned raccoons, and we gave them Gatorade to drink; it contains electrolytes which are missing in a dehydrated animal. Try to find a vet who is elderly. They have experience and can diagnose without costly tests. Oh, dear Dr. Jasmin, how you are missed!
