So if this is to be believed the UK are proposing a 3 thousand quid cash bond for certain visitors from certain countries to visit the UK.
I wonder if Jason Kenney reads the Daily Mail and thinks this might be a good idea for Canada although we have the option at the moment of requiring a person visiting or their family here in Canada of posting a cash bond or guarantee if CBSA think it necessary.

Might ruffle a few feathers and cries of racism from some groups.

It would be necessary to know the extent to "the problem" before proffering an opinion. On the face of it, it seems somewhat discriminatory and possibly ineffective.

If one assumes that those most likely to overstay are economic migrants, it would appear to make perfect sense. I don't know whether those that typically overstay are economic migrants but, if for nothing else, it would appear that it will possibly pay something toward the cost of having to track them down and remove them from the country if they do, unless, of course, all believe that such expenses should be borne by the taxpayers of the UK.

3,000 and your in !!! Bargain....
It's cheaper than spending two weeks in a container, (note sure of the going rate to people smuggle, was a guess ok) and much more comfortable.

It currently costs you and I the taxpayers approx. $5000 to track down an illegal or overstay and have them removed from Canada.
They are only paying consumption taxes and not paying into EI, CPP and paying Federal Income Tax.
They have no health coverage usually so not insured and we know a Canadian hospital wont turn away a patient. So who ends up stuck with that bill?
There are pros and cons to this idea say a Brit who was married to someone from Bangladesh or one of the other countries mentioned.
Sort of like paying a damage deposit on an apartment you rent. No damage you get it back. Do you complain about that?
Why do you think these countries have visas imposed against them compared to other countries?
Nah just let everyone in and we will look after them and provide them with accommodation, jobs, education and basic health needs. We the taxpayer can afford to do that cant we?
