Interesting in that the author has such a limited grasp of reality. It's like suggesting Ireland should merge with the UK, several reasons on paper, but none when you consider the national psyche.

It will never happen, but an interesting scenario.

I was hoping that in the unlikely event that it did happen, it would be without Quebec.

it won't happen but if it ever did the yanks would grab it all, and Quebec would not be spared

i hate to think what would become of QC's restrictive language laws, sign laws, and ludicrous so called /charter of values

all would disappear overnight

or Scotland after a YES vote with Salmond as governor of the 51st state. Scotland has the oil & as we know America just wants to move in on any oil producing countries.

Agree

On QC, why not just it. QC can separate [it'll never happen], but you know maybe once again simply let the folks of QC decide. On the basis QC separated the rest of Canada will take two bits just for the paperwork.

I can see it now QC becomes an all English speaking 51st state of the union

Hey wait a minute, Canada OK, without Quebec even better. Quebec only! No deal.
