Canada's summer weather
Thought I would start this thread to let the UK people up-to-date with our weather.
The past week has been pretty hot here in NS. Yesterday was in the high 20Cs/low 30Cs. It is now 7.45am and is 17C at the moment with a high of 30C expected today. Humidity hasn't been bad over the last few days either which is great. Don't know about anyone else but I find that our hottest time tends to be around 3-6pm instead of the usual 12-2 back over the pond. Not totally bragging about the weather though as I am fairly puggled by evening time  :D |

It crossed my mind yesterday that I've never seen a thread about how hot Canada is just how cold. I have to say I think I must be a winter girl as these 30degree temps are killing me. Mowed and edged the lawns yesterday and just about passed out!
You are not alone there Lisa. I also find it hard going. I prefer temps around low 20Cs ie Sept in NS. I recycle my dehumidifier water collection and water my plants with it  |
Re: Canada's summer weather
We had a temperature of 36.5Ëš on Canada Day here in Pemberton, BC. Was way too hot for me and the puppy was a little bit warm too! Thankfully it's going to be 10Ëš less today - way more comfortable.

Re: Canada's summer weather
On average the weather in canada is quite nice
You just have to add the winter numbers to the summer numbers and divide by two...... ;) |

Re: Canada's summer weather
All I can say had a really nice hot couple of days but presently a lovely breeze blowing through the house with all the windows open, which also means no biting insects :D

Re: Canada's summer weather
We've decamped to sleep in the cool basement for the past week or so - and now it just seems easier to stay there for the whole month ! Last July was just too hot for me for about three of the weeks - it's a bit more mixed up at the moment this year - hot and humid for a day or two, then a quick thunder shower then sunny again.
I'm not complaining though. |
Re: Canada's summer weather
must add that its been really hot here, foggy some mornings last week, but cleared by mid morning,

Lovely here on the Island today, Mid/late 20's
Took all of these photos today  ...... Snow in the morning & beach in the afternoon. (looking forward to seeing Pemberton tomorrow :)) At the risk of sounding like the miserable old fart that I am, could you possibly resize your images to no larger than 800 pixels wide or 600 pixels high before uploading them. I have a high speed connection and at 1.5 megabytes each each, your pictures took a full minute to download before I was able to see them.:( I have taken the liberty of resizing these three (now between 77 and 205 kilobytes each), I hope you don't mind. This makes your pictures download faster and thus much more viewable to "everyone" and also saves on server space for the site owners.:) |

I am a technophobic old fart myself :o & have no idea how to re-size my photos, plus, I can see them in about 10secs so assumed everyone else could too ....... duh!! Don't forget I live on Vancouver Island also, so anything that happens in 1 minute is almost warp speed!! Here are a couple from this week ....... (off to google to look up resizing photos, honest ;)) 2 are Whistler & the other is the view from the Malahat with Mt Baker in the background. |

Re: Canada's summer weather
It's hot hot hot in Kelowna and i don't like it one bit, everytime i drive down the road i nearly end up in an accident, i mean what girl in her right mind would wear such short skimpy clothes when it's a mild 38 degrees.

Re: Canada's summer weather
Yep - hubby was really struggling at work last week while the Stampede was on - I mean, bikini-clad gorgeous fit girls everywhere, skimpy skirts and cowboy boots - he could barely think straight, let alone work properly.
Not that he noticed it much of course - or that's what he told me, anyway ;) but his colleague bubbled him  |
