town next to us had their christmas lights up and on last week, i assumed they were just testing, but no, they were on again this week!! can't they wait until at least hallowe'en and bonfire night are over?

Oh no. They are very efficient at this sort of thing. All birthdays and anniversarys remembered (cards a couple of weeks in advance), and we even get a letter after their annual vacation with a picture of them in the sun
