Hi! Wondering if anyone could help please?
I'mcurrently living in TO and although I love it, I have rented for 2 years now and i'd like to buy a house! The best I can hope for is a 2+1 Condo here and I have three children so really I need at least three bedrooms and anyway they'd like a house in the suburbs or even the country, and we're happy anywhere so that's ok!
So...question is.... where to go? Literally I could go anywhere in the country, as I don't have any geographical ties at all. I havent travelled much in Canada so far though so just wondered if anyone could give me any pointers at all.
Requisits are a great school and community and thats about it!!
Looking forward to 3000 replies to choose from!
LOL!
Many thanks for any snippets of information in advance - good or bad! (where not to live is also beneficial!, assuming there could possibly be ANYWHERE in this amazing country where its preferable not to live! LOL!)
Cheers!

Ottawa come to mind as the place not to live .. had to endure a few months there some ten years ago ... was bored to tears ... however if you aspire to a quite unexciting life maybe this is the place for you .. other than house prices what is wrong with Toronto by the way?

Oh there's absolutley NOTHING wrong with Toronto! Its my favourite place on earth! I might well end up in a suburb in the GTA, just wondered if there were any places out there that anyone could particularly recommend as an alternative!
Thanks for your reply! You're not the first person to put me off Ottawa!! LOL!

It seems to me from my visits there and comments on here from present residents that Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley area offer about as great as you can get it. Beautiful summers and not too severe winters. Great scenic surroundings and outdoor activities galore

I had omitted Montreal simply because of the French requirement. This discourages many which is good since we don't need a mega city. It is crowded enough as it is. Housing is inexpensive compared to other major cities.

How true but the only negative I can think of are those forest fires. The interior of BC can be stifling with heat in the Summer.

The ensuing war will happen somewhere in the middle which will mean you will ultimately end up living in Manitoba.
You have been warned

Needle in a haystack question.
Regards other replies Kelowna certainly has it all BUT property prices are the biggest turn off for people.
The Kootenays certainly has some nice parts and probably better value for money but quite a way from anywhere although maybe you could live with that.
Nova Scotians will be along soon to tell you how cheap it is there and how nice it is so i guess you will have your work cut out researching.
Good luck and let me know if you need more info on Kelowna
