Calling all smoker's

I hope this post is not in the incorrect area, if it is I apologize.
Would anybody know if you can buy hand rolled tobacco like Golden Virginia alike etc?

All sorts of tax free tobaco products on the reserve:sneaky:

Otherwise there's a "smokers shop" at my local mall, possibly something similar wherever you are?

It's around but few people do it. I've never seen anyone hand-roll. The papers are crap. The majority sold are probably not used for, er, ciggies.

Re: Calling all smoker's

I've never seen Golden but you can get Light Blue Drum which is close (been a while since I've smoked GV)...

The blue papers here are like silver ones at home, super thin..

2oz is around C$22 so it's comparable..

Just to add, they do just assume you're smoking dope if you're out & about enjoying a rollie..

Extremely not legal, and of variable quality. Or so I'm told. Very cheap though, apparently.

Didnt they do a study of butt ends outside government buildings in your neck of the woods and one in three or so were unmarked?

It wouldn't surprise me. Allegedly.

A lot of people here buy ready made tubes (paper & filter) & use a machine to make their own cigarettes using Players loose tobacco (Duty paid). I don't think all of these tubes have markings on them..

Re: Calling all smoker's

Other than "Suck here if you wish to die sooner" what markings do ciggies have anyway?

I did look into that a while back. I couldn't anwhere selling the necessaries. Obviously not too popular in these parts.

You can get Rizla's in Vancouver, apparently.

The cigarette store attached to our local Atlantic Superstore is called 'Holy Smokes'

I am not a smoker either and am so glad it's banned in public places in Nova Scotia

If you happen to by in craptastic northern New York State, there is this place

http://goo.gl/maps/Cov2

that sells cheap gas (name brand) and cigarettes (can't remember the exact prices but I think about $2/pack rings a bell...they are no name and you get a bigger discount if you buy a bag of them...loose not in packs)....coffee is a $1 a cup (no tax)......

Quite the place....the restaurant looks dodgy.

Re: Calling all smoker's

Not sure of the legal status of loose american sourced ciggies as "duty free". I suspect they are just as illegal as those got on reserve here.

Upstate NY and Southern SE Ontario are pretty much the same area especially in First Nations terms. Probably the same ciggies from the same place?

As far as I understand, the ciggies sold on the reserves mainly come from the US.

Nova Scotia is a strange place..

I'm a non Christian & although it only damages the rationality of those that indulge it it's peculiar corpse/ghost worship I am pushing for it to be banned in all public places..

Quick edit to add that the title of this thread is "calling all smokers" & not "calling all over-opinionated & judgmental twats who constantly chip in on subjects of which they know nothing"...

I don't want people that believe they gain magic powers by pretending to eat human flesh & drink human blood pushing their insanity on innocent passers by...

I've got kids for f***s sake!

As a Christian I won't judge you, I'll let God do the judging. May he have mercy on you and help you be more tolerant and happy.

Re: Calling all smoker's

Are you often stopped in the street to have religion pushed upon you? More than say politics, or charity fund raising, or consumer poling?

My wife's catholic (I love her anyway), I sometimes get dragged along. Even in church no one pushes their views upon me. I wonder about you pushing your views on your kids and others... just as bad really. Fanatics are fanatics, regardless of which side of an issue they are on. I guess I just dont get excitable about things.

Too many times to be bothered to recall. All of the Christian cults, Islam, Hare Krishna etc, etc...
Sally Army anyone? Or how about Jehovah's Witnesses.?..

I don't push esoteric views on my children, definites like my abhorrence of homophobia, misandry, misogyny, racism etc are fair game in my book. I'm pretty sure it's a requisite of responsible parenting..

..

Not sure of the Christian fascination with breakfast but there seems to an inordinate amount of Jesus images turning up in toast lately.

I quite liked this quote from the article.

"People might think I'm nuts, but I like to think it's Jesus looking out for us. We've had a tough couple of months; my mum's been really ill and it's comforting to think that if he is there, he's watching over us."

They have little blue dots or something on them indicating they've had tax paid.
