Calgary Netball World Record attempt
#1
Hello BE'ers
Netball Alberta is attempting to play the longest continuous game of Netball (currently 60 hours) over the weekend of Sept 16th-19th at South Fish Creek Rec Centre.
The Guinness World record attempt is a joint effort to raise funds for kids sports charity 'Right to Play' who are aiming to raise $25,000 and also increase the profile of Netball in Alberta.
So if you'd like to come along to support the players or volunteer to help out (need all kinds of help, score keepers, witnesses, photographers, dogsbodies) we'd be delighted to hear from you via email [email protected]
You can also get more details at www.netballalberta.com
Thanks for reading!

Netball Alberta has junior & senior leagues running year round and even employs a Development Officer who runs school clinics around Alberta aiming to get Netball included in the phys'ed curriculum. In May 2012 Calgary will host the Netball National Championship. Lots of exciting stuff coming up. You can subscribe to our newsletter by contacting [email protected].

Not yet but certainly willing to help any group out that's willing to get a league running. We have someone based in Edmonton who is making contacts and we did have someone in Red Deer attempting to do the same but she moved back to Aus. If you can get a group of friends together we are having a tourni in Calgary on Nov 5th and would love to have you join us.

I haven't got any friends
My daughter and I would probably come along though, mind you I wouldn't get around the court very fast these days
