Default Buying British tea online in Canada

Our final stash of Yorkshire tea that we brought with us has finally run out. Have tried a local version, but not keen ( will keep trying though!) Can anyone recommend a good, not too expensive way of shipping YT - can't wait for the relatives to bring some over- it could be some time!
Thanks

Hi and welcome!

Try these guys - they seem to have what you are looking for (and the price doesn't look too bad either!) and they are based in Alberta.

Hope you are enjoying Victoria - J

You can buy Yorkshire tea from Superstore and Save On Foods. Well at least you can in Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge, BC.

Yes you can here too - but PG Tips, Yorkshire, etc etc sold for the Canadian and US market are made solely from orange pekoe leaves and is not the same as the blended black tea leaves that are used for export to UK.

There's not a huge difference in taste but to tea aficionados there most certainly is

Aaaah i didn't know that. I can't tell the difference. Probably because my cuppa consists mainly of milk and sugar.

Try "President's Choice" brand 'English Blend' tea from Loblaw group supermarkets - a close approximation of PG. They also have a slightly stronger 'English Breakfast Blend'.

Would it be possible for the rellies to send a "Red Cross Parcel" of your Yorkshire Tea until they're able to visit?

No - tea is defined as contraband by canadian customs. Tea smuggling is a major crime and you can get several years imprisonment if found guilty.

The imported tea is then used as an enema before your first night with your new prison mates.

hmm - when I emailed PG and tetley shortly after arrival in december they both advised me that the tea leaves for Uk / Europe and here were the same - Orange pekoe refers to the grading system for black teas . . .
