I agree with that too...but I have a jacket that I'm comfortable wearing here at a far colder temperature than I'd have worn it in Bristol. And in my first winter here too.

Maybe I'm just weird. Yet others here suggest something similar.

I remember an incident more than 34 years ago when I was a postdoc in Cambridge and we had a sabbatical visitor from Canada (Deep River, the AEC research place).

My OH had bought me a winter coat for Christmas and when the guy saw it he asked where she'd found it, because it'd be perfect for springtime at home.
