Opened yesterday. Located on Yates St. next to Scotiabank ,corner of Yates and Douglas
I had a quick look and it had many of the items which some posters here have wanted i.e. 'Bigga' marrowfat and mushy peas, various chocolate and candy items etc., as well as the usual good assortment of dried fruit and nuts and baking supplies.. I only bought some Walker's shortbread and some Cadbury Flake.
I will go back another time to get Christmas baking supplies.

Yes they do carry some "british" stuff with appropriate markup. Only place I've seen "double deckers". Pushing $2 a bar unforunately

A Bulk Barn was opened in Courtenay in June this year. I believe there are about 8 of these stores on Vancouver Island. We used to shop at one in Edmonton all the time. They're a franchise so the layout is the same everywhere. Nice clean, well-stocked stores with a huge selection of flours, nuts, grains, seeds, dried fruits, herbal teas, vitamin supplements, herbs, and spices as well as lots of candy. We get lots of gluten-free things there. They also have bulk liquidy things such as apple butter and sesame butter. Prices are good and seniors and students get 10% off every Wednesday.
The only drawback is people who don't bother to put the bin number on their bag tags. There are tags and pencils provided but if you get stuck behind somebody who was too lazy to use them, you have a bit of a wait. I'd recommend this place.
