No it does not count, and you have just managed to show that even ants have some taste....

Sounds like a great game for sunny afternoons, BBQ and the like?

I worked in Finland for a few months and Mosquito Milk was great & better than anything else I have ever used.

Deet & geranium extract - just googled to check.

I can get really bad reactions, especially if near a joint so have to have anti histamine as well.

BTW - don't mix anti histamine & travel sickness tablets - was near Niagra once & was completely spaced - much to the amusement of my friends.
Just looking up about Mosquito Milk and it looks good but struggling to find a stockist in Canada. Is it sold here do you know?

You'd need to milk a lot of them to cover your cornflakes.

There are countless DEET based repellents here, they all work the same. Some of the newer ones dont even have that oily consistency either.

Four more bites, two on the way to infection, I tried the baking soda and water to stop the itching last night. It did work, today I am trying the salt and water solution to see if that will draw the infection.

I really am hoping not to have to go to the doctor's although I do have an appointment on thursday for TB surveillance...

I hate mozzies!

Have you tried hydrocortisone cream? you don't need a prescription for it. The stuff we use to stop itching is called AfterBite. It works but it stings like hell when you put it on.

I suppose you use antibiotic creams to try to prevent infection too.

We haven't had many mossies so far so I wonder if one of your neighbours has open water, water butts, old cans etc, or long grass where the damn things are breeding.

I tried one of those mossie patches yesterday following being bitten the other week and looking like a seive.

They certainly are effective as I think I only got 4 or so bites and was out all day.

They actually work like a nicotine patch, so you put them on a couple of hours before you need the protection, and they can last up to 36 hours.

Look them up i'm sure they are called defend or something, won't stop you being bitten for good but they'll certainly reduce the annoyance and eliminate the spraying of all the chemicals

How do they work tho? patches usually work by something being absorbed into the skin -is that something ok?

Yes I have tried hydrocortisone cream, it did not work, AfterBite seems to cause the bites to react worse. I am currently using Fucidin antibiotic cream, and taking Novo-Ciprofloxacin.

We don't have a lot of mozzies here, we do have some though, I am avoiding going out in the evening unless covered in DEET, but if there was just one in Ontario I think the little bugger would find me!

When we moved into this house last year there was a small pond affair that did not have a pump or anything, that was one of the first things to go, it would have been mozzie heaven, and hell for me.

I currently have a blister the size of a grape on my leg, I am trying very hard not to allow it too burst...

Where were they from? I wonder what is in them though?

Shheeesh, you are a mystery to bug science. I was looking for a jokey picture of one of those head and face nets for you to wear and then I thought maybe you need a screened in deck or porch so you can sit outside in the evening. Is that possible at your place? At our last place we had one of those screened gazebos, and at one time a net that you hang over a garden umbrella. We bought it in Jysk, very cheap.

I looked up the patches they are vitamin B1

May as well smear yourself with marmite.
