Brummieland

This link is for MikeUK but might be of interest to others.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...l-8916466.html

Never been there myself (aside from on the M6) but might have to make a trip one of these days.

Even the Balti Triangle is mentioned. Hope this is comment enough to avoid grinding anyone's gears :)

Can't say I agree about the accent
I'm so happy that noone in Canada recognizes it
But I have held this opinion for years that Birmingham is a far superior city !

Do you like or dislike the accent?
Are you agreeing that Birmingham is superior to London?

Hate the accent ( and the connotations that go with it) and I'm allowed to say that!
And Birmingham is a far better city than London

I loved living in Birmingham, would happily live there again if I wasn't living the high life in Coquitlam!

The Black Country Museum is quite good.

Although the Saddam Hussein mosque has lost its charm since they changed the name.

Re: Brummieland

Well there are all kinds of variations, black country isn't just an accent, it's a dialect, Birmingham accent is significantly milder. But there's also for example the Walsall accent which is somewhere inbetween.
