My car would have definitely benefited from one this (late) morning, it was really slow to turn over, it caught eventually but there was an iffy minute or so there On the other hand OH had his truck plugged in and it started no probs this (early) morning.

Here in Ottawa it was a very pleasant 15C and sunny today. The big freeze catches up with us tommorow, forecast high -1c.

Yeah, right. If you're out in a T-shirt in -35c your nipples will fall off to say nothing of the shrinkage in your junk.

f*****g weather my bloody car won't start - and do you think I can dig around under the bonnet and find where the block heater cord is??? NO of course I can't.

So attempt to plug the battery charger in - come in the house - go back outside and the f*****g dog has chewed the extension cord in half.

So no cord and no starty car.

Beat that in your Welsh t shirt.

<walks off mumbling something about why does this have to happen the morning oh goes away>

hey it's much warmer now ... only -12! (Did I just say that?)
I had to discard a layer on my way home when I stopped at the mall.

Last night I nearly ran out of gas as it was around -30, plus (or -) whatever the wind chill was, and I couldn't face standing around in the cold filling my car. This morning it was quite bearable at about -23!

Fortunately the memories of -30C or colder are long gone from my memory, but all I can say is the the -15C according to the Calgary weather report as I left the hotel on 5th Avenue this morning felt a damn site more pleasant than the damp -1C in Swindon on Saturday.
