Cool British Computers

Hello, does anyone know if there is anything you can buy to change the voltage on a british pc to enable it to be used in Canada? Thought I had better ask...but if there isnt , my hubby will HAVE to let me buy a lovely new MAC!!!!

Unless you have a dual voltage power supply already, you just need to install a new power supply. Easy to do (when you know how) and costs from $40 up.

Have you checked the power supply on the one you have yet?

If it has something like 110/240Volt then you don't need a new computer.

Correct. There is usually a switch at the rear to change voltage and all you need is a power lead. Ours worked fine but blew up after a few months.Nothing to do with the change just blew up!!

Oooh, you do know computers work completely differently here don't you? At least that's what I am assuming judging by their complete unwillingness to hire someone that knows computers but not a Canadian

Whatever you do though, DON'T flick that said switch whilst it is connected to the mains, otherwise you definitely will need a Mac!!
