Dickens in Chilliwack BC import real British foods... $3 for a turkish delight and $8 for a pot noodle... harsh but a welcome fix when needed:thumbsup:

One of those nice metal tins from M&S containing a mixed chocolate biccie assortment usually goes down pretty well with work colleagues.

Great suggestions...well some great, some downright weird.

I think that Thorntons will be a winner, maybe some Galaxy and Revels are a great idea. Most other things can be found here, except maybe the sweets you used to buy as a 'quarter' bag. Lemon bonbons, apple tarts, aniseed balls.

The problem will be actually bringing this stuff into work without scoffing it all myself. Do I like these cretins enough to part with a family bag of Revels?

I've been eating those the past few weeks - not quite the same when my sister isn't around to eat the walnut:rofl:

To the OP, Bournville chocolate and a tub of heroes should do the trick.

Not hard to find in Canada, especially Mars and Dairy Milk. You might have to go to a British speciality shop for some of them.

These are people he likes, I'm assuming. (I do actually like Twiglets but they're an acquired taste).

I agree, Thorton's truffles. I have become fond of Roger's chocolates since I moved here but they have a different speciality, not truffles. Purdy's doesn't have anything to compare either.

Surprised that a lot of people seem to have not figured out that most of the stuff they're listing is available in Canada, e.g. Milky Way = 3 Musketeers. Caramel = Caramilk, etc. You can even get Fox's biscuits at Loblaw's under the President's Choice brandname.

not strictly chocolate but get a can of spotted dick at Tesco or Asda - always goes down a storm.

Some snotty teenager asked me on a flight to Blighty once if this were a fictional desert - and sniggered til snot came out of her nose when I told her that it was indeed, a real bona fide pudding.

Ooooh Thornton's Viennese truffles , no way on earth would I give them to work colleagues , mmmmm I had a 3 tier choc wedding cake with TVT on top mmmmmm.

Last time I bought some of my closer work mates a multiple bag of curly wurlies and flakes, they went down well, ooooh and Percy Pigs, but had to wrestle them off the kids!
