Re: Botox
my problem with the botox thing in particular is the lack of understanding of the risks involved and in some cases ( don't know how regulated it is in Canada) the lack of training of the persons administering it.
To allow a teenager that has attended a half day training course to inject botulism toxin into your skin is criminally irresponsible. Botox has legitimate medical uses, but there are reasons why physicians spend so many years training. it is so they can administer these things with an accepatbly low risk of killing someone |
Re: Botox
I suppose, on reflection, if you smoke then the risks of "Botox gone wrong" are no worse, probably better in the long run.
In general I try and avoid both doctors and handing over cash as much as possible as a rule. Thats one reason I dont smoke either I guess. Must be a great cash cow for the places doing it though... hand over a few hundred bucks to try and stave off the natural effects of getting older, feel good for a bit, have the effects wear off over a few months, go hand over some more money, repeat until death do you part;) |
Re: Botox
Its nice to see some who seem care about their appearance. I'd say go for it girls.

Then flogger said it was high in vitamin B which was also good for colds. So we hit on a two for one benefit of the salty stuff. (And the tagline for Buckleys kind of fits too) |

I think it was more a reference of the creamy stuff being good for the skin (if ingested).

Re: Botox
I just can't imagine that you would find enough people willing to swallow Buckleys frequently enough to have a large enough sample for a survey.

Sooo . . .any one done it???
Took about 5 minutes in total, wee bit stingy as it's happening but otherwise fine and I loved the results! No more glaring at people! It does wear off after a few months, but I have noticed the frown hasn't fully returned to pre-injection extent. Will I do it again? Absolutely! In fact, will head off to have it done again a few weeks before the wedding. Will I go on to have other procedures done? Absolutely not. I'm a chicken when it comes to pain and the tramlines were the only thing that bothered me. Kinda like myself the way I am :) |
Re: Botox
Has anyone done any liposuction? There's not the same stigma these days.

Re: Botox
I do wish we could go back in time, when women could grow old gracefully, mums looked like mums and your nan was all warm and cuddly! The pressure's too much for gals nowadays. I wonder too, although I have no evidence to back my theory, whether botox acts in the same way a plaster cast does when you have it removed after months with a broken limb and your muscles have all withered to nothing because you weren't using them? Say you fell on hard times and couldn't afford to keep up with the top ups, would you end up looking saggy because your muscles had been out of use for months? Just wondered...

I look at pics of all the girls that I grewup / went to school with and the majority of them look schmoking hawt still, tbh I don't seem to remember when I was a kid, any of the mums looking half as nice as the middle aged ladies of today.

Re: Botox
So ladies since valentines day I've been using my wonderful gift (wrinkle cream for those that don't know!) - apparently you see results in 4 weeks, so we'll see how it goes - just going through that "change of skincare routine spots" phase at the mo :frown:
