Border Security

The CBSA guy we dealt with coming back into Coutts yesterday was very direct and professional, but showed zero emotion!
On the flipside the US Border Officer was very warm and welcoming and gave us some awesome advice
I was expecting it to be the other way around...that said, the last time I entered the states was 2 weeks after 9/11 so they were on edge

I remember once I was going down to Buffalo with some friends for a weekend. We had tickets to see Wicked as it was on tour, and were going to take the opportunity to do some shopping as well. There were four of us in the car, all Canadian.
So as we're queueing for the US border, my friend who was driving starts getting all nervous, and says "What do I say when they ask why we are here?"
Me: Uh... we have tickets for a show, and are going to do some shopping, and we are staying until Sunday evening?
Her: But then they'll know we are going shopping! We'll get searched!
Me: No, we are allowed to go shopping, we just have to stay under the limit, and they'd search on the way back, not on the way in.
Her: BUt they'll tag the car for a search!
Me: WTF? No! Just tell the truth!
So we pull up to the gate.
US Guy: Passports and nationalities, please. Where are you going?
Friend: All Canadian. Going to Buffalo.
US Guy: Purpose of visit?
Friend: Vacation
*silence*
US Guy: You are going to Buffalo ... for a vacation.
Friend: Yep.
US Guy: Buffalo. For a vacation.
Me (in passenger seat): We have tickets to see Wicked tomorrow night, and are going to do a bit of shopping.
US Guy: Oh, of course, a few people coming in to see that! Have a great weekend!

Hehehehehe Wicked.
I think he was happy for your hubby. As South Park so kindly exposed the purpose of shows like that...
