We bought a block heater recently. It has a 2008 Jeep Patriot attached to it.
Now all I need is the extension cable to reach the socket as the Jeep doesn't fit on the porch.

That's a very large and shiny block heater - you show off.
I'm sorry, I don't know much about extension cables. Is there any way you could modify the porch a little?

I'm with Ann, extension cables could be nibbled by small animals, if modification to the porch is not possible, how about the sun room? You could then gaze lovingly at the block heater from the comfort of your armchair.

Gosh, such sensible advice, I'm torn between choices. I would have to demolish the wood shed to get the block heater into the sunroom but that's a small price to pay. Enlarging the porch would work well too and then the block heater would be right outside the picture window where I could admire the inferno red colour up close.

my advice would be to move your furniture, along with a portable generator, into the block heater. Then you can live in it and plug it in at the same time.
Use the exisiting house as storage.

Perhaps one should see if they can find a solar powered attachment.

With four-wheel drive and the right sort of snow tires, surely an obstruction as weedy as a porch is no impediment to placing your block heater within reach of a socket? Just drive on through, it'll be fine...

It's only FWD so we got a good deal on it. Purchase necessitated by me hitting and killing a dog and the scabby Saturn.

Simple build a double garage with internal sockets job done. (be a shame to leave a shiny new block heater out in the rain)

Congratulations on the purchase of your new block heater.
It appears to be a large mobile heater. I do trust you have thought about appropriate tyre-age when maneouvring your block heater to within proximity of a socket?
Also, I think one would need very straight hair to operate such a new block heater.

Re the straight hair. There is a small outlet in the seating area of the block heater but I'm not sure what the supply is. You raise an interesting point though, will UK hair straighteners work if plugged into the power outlet of a Canadian vehicle?
