There, I opened it, as just suggested. Yes this seems bizzare and is at present unfolding as they keep saying on the news. It does however, undoubtedly involve two innocent kids who are now dead.
Can somebody post a link please?

Just came across that a few minutes ago.
An ex tenant at our duplex used to keep snakes.

A guy that I work with has a python (plus lizards and other smaller reptiles) which went missing last week. Still hasn't found the ruddy thing yet! Can't see what the pleasure is. Can't exactly take it for walks and throw sticks for it!

Ive seen someone take a persian cat for a walk on a lead and I have seen someone take a rabbit for a walk on a lead so taking a repitle for a walk is not past the realms of reality

We used to take the cat for walks on a leash, we'd tie the leash to the pumps at the Yard and people would throw shrimps and such to it. Burmese though, not Persian.

When she ran out on me, she went a bit north of here. I'm hoping she was involved in some way, so she has it on her conscience. Bitch.

Anyone care to explain how a snake managed to climb UP !! A ventilation system ?

At 15' it can likely reach up at least 5'-6', and quite possibly more, so depending on how the duct work is arranged climbing inside is certainly possible. There could also be a common duct in the ceiling of the shop and the floor of the apartment. There are several possibilities.

Smells to me.
Why would a snake kill two children? If it was hungry, wouldn't it have eaten one of them?
One would think the first one would have made some noise, waking the second one.

Several python species can reach over 20'. One problem is that "babies" are sold in pet shops and they slowly grow bigger and bigger until they are too big for most people to care for. There is no obvious way to dispose of your outsize snake, and clearly there is very little market for such creatures. In most parts of the US, and all of Canada, if you let the snake go it will die during the first winter, unless it finds somewhere to hide. Unfortunately that is not the case in Florida, and now there are thousands of some species of python alive and breeding, with no natural predators.
