Default A bizarre question

Right for all you caravaners/travel trailer people.

Why, when I see a caravan (travel trailer) here parked up, does it not have a little wheel at the front?

It's always a pole - no wheel.

The reason I am asking is our travelux hasn't got one - it's got the windey up pole but no wheel at the bottom for just moving it to hitch up.

I have asked this question on a Airstream Forum and have got completely confused and they reckon it's to do with weight distribution and such stuff.

I have seen boat trailers/toy haulers and other thing with the wheel but not travel trailers.

Can someone explain why in a sensible fashion that a 5th grader could understand? Because I am just not getting it it from the other forum - I think it may be a language barrier
Thank you

We use to have one. Sold it this summer. It had a wheel on it.

But then ours was a tent trailer. Don't know if that makes a difference.

I though the purpose of the trailer jack was to STOP it moving around in most cases.
