Bit of a heads up from GM just in case!
We were told today that just in case GM go into bankruptcy at the end of the month, to make sure all warranty parts etc were ordered in so the work could be completed before D day.
The reason for this is that if work is done after possible bankruptcy, due to everything being frozen, the dealers will not get paid for the warranty work done until at least they come out the other end (- which if we are going by Chrysler standards is anything up to 6 months.)
So the long and the short - if we won't get paid for it, we ain't doing it - not just yet any road, and that will be across the board think.
I'm not scaremongering - just passing on what we were told today, obviously customers are being told its business as usual but I don't want any of you guys in the sh1tjust in case.
Like I say it might not happen - but ultimately if its warranty you don't have to pay it anyway so what is there to lose!

I don't think theres anything worong with getting a GM car - theres some nice models out there actually - just that non common parts and warranty work could get a bit sketchy.

If i were in the market for a car, new or used, i would not go anywhere near a GM or a Chrysler.
At least not right now.

Camaro is not as as the original but still
SAAB is still worth the money (at least IMHO)
Solstice and Sun are nice 'hairdresser' cars.

Although I had to laugh yesterday a lady had just picked up her new black Solstice and was buying all the gadgets and gizmos for it. Wanted a car bra (til we advised her against it as when you take em off theres more damage done to the paintwork from stuff thats got stuck under there!)
She was musing that she would only drive it on sunny days as "one day this will be a collectors item"
Every inch of me wanted to say "look love whilst it might be pretty to look at - that aint no feat of modern engineering,, nothing super duper engine wise and I think the only Pontiacs that will ever be worth anything - as now - are the trans am limited edt."
But I kept my gob shut nodded politey and said "i'm sure you're right - now how about some new mud guards for it............................"

Agreed. The new Camaro looks stunning. Retro look. Love the interior too. I hear the plant in Oshawa are doing an extra shift to meet demand on it.
