IIRC my 1400cc added about $120 a year to my insurance. At the time I got it, I had passed my motorcycle test a week or two prior in Calgary, had never held a motorcycle licence previously, and passed following a 2 day course in Calgary.

I had liability only for a few years, assuming it would be the same sort of saving as TP v fully comp in UK. But not, the damage is in liability cover, theft and full cover isn't much more- check.

Cruisers are good value and that Kwack is a good bike.

So I have paid for my M1 test and now studying hard for that. I didn't realise I would have to do the G1 test as well ? How annoying. So many stupid G questions regarding points fines and driving while disqualified!! It's like they expect everyone to drive and get banned

Have my M1 exit training booked already for June so best pass my M1 In good time.

Having the ability to ride a bike is not required at this juncture:@(

Blimey! Any idea of what bike your getting? Mine has been stuffed in the shop, to which I have no key and it's stuffed in, in such a way I cannot retrieve it alone anyway. It's a gorgeous sunny day, I've blagged a day off work and cannot make good use of it:blink::eek::( Hoping tomorrow we can get it out and I can finally have a play:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrosse d:

I think I will settle for a Kawasaki 800 Vulcan or similar cruiser for now. I will take my M1 exit first tho, get my M2 then look for one. Had a ride of my friends one and liked it.

Those that had a RD 350 - was there a 'thing' that held the right hand peg up whilst kick starting? I think there was. Got the thing going, popped her in gear and stalled, can't get her going again, bruised sole of foot, knackered, having a rest and will give it another go!

Nothing hold the peg up

Chances are the plugs are fouled up. Take out the plugs, kick the motor over with a finger over the hole, a side at a time, making sure HT lead is outa the way and that will help clear any excess fuel in the crank.

Put new plugs in, I used nGK9's in my LC and try again.

If no luck maybe it's the other way around and the jets are blocked up with little or no fuel getting in.? If this is the case then drop a thimble of fuel into each cylinder then try again. If it starts then stops it will need a carb service.

Very nice.

My friend has a Honda Shadow that looks very similar to that - direct drive too.

His is very comfortable to ride.

It had had a complete overhaul before we got it, I suspect he popped to much two stroke in the petrol tank (he suggested I did the same) after the engine rebuild, we will dilute the petrol and clean the plugs (when it stops raining again).

Thanks for the advice. It's weird there wasn't something to keep the peg out the way while kickstarting as my leg automatically went to move the peg (or maybe it was positioning itself out of danger lol)
