I wear a helmet on the ATV all the time - the law here requires it (although somewhat oddly you can ride a skidoo without a helmet) and it's safest. I also wear one when driving the RZR even though it has a cage.

I like the ride of the longer two-up ATV's as they are less pitchy than the standard ones IMHO. I've had the ATV since 2008 and my eldest daughter (8) is now tall enough to ride safely on the back seat. Our youngest (5) is small & has low muscle tone but she fits nicely into a car seat that is fastened into the bucket seat on the RZR. That way we can go out as a family. Both kids (& the wife) absolutely love it.

Pic is of both toys after I'd used the RZR to pull the ATV out of the snow. (Don't ask why I thought it was a good idea to try and plow a path down the garden....)

This is a photo of me at 16 getting ready for my morning commute on a MZ Simson 49cc. Check out those front and rear L plates. This bike had so much torque, you really had to watch out ;o)

It probably requires it here too, though how the law could be enforced I've no idea. I can't remember the last time I saw another vehicle on the trails I use. My first ATV here was a work tool at our equestrian centre, it just wasn't feasible to wear a helmet while feeding animals, hauling hay, repairing fencing, moving irrigation pipe etc.

Yes, the slightly longer wheelbase of a 2-up ATV does make for a smoother ride, and they're a little more stable too. My old quad bike could be encouraged onto the 2 outside wheels quite easily, the 2-up model far less so.

RZR's are fun - I went ice racing in one earlier this year, which was pretty much a 400m long drift round and round a lake.

What's insurance rates like here for bikes, interested in Ontario GTA. You all got me looking at bikes now with this dam thread Lol

I suppose I would be a new rider as my MC entitlement wasn't transferred >groan<

She is super pretty and comes home next weekend, hopefully Friday, I can't wait to go for a burn! Alberta MC insurance is cheap, but then so is car compared to Ont:eek:

Not necessarily. If you have a transcript of your UK license, send that in too. My class 6 did not transfer with my class 5. A whole other saga! My discounts with our insurer ICBC are the same for all vehicles, it is driving experience, not what class of license. My private for the MC accepted my UK experience, discount if you have done a course and also one if you belong to a MC club or group of some sort.

I Kept photo copies of my UK license and counter part. Could I email DVLC maybe get it in writing ?

I'm not a fan of bikes.

My son pretty much ended his career because of his KTM. And a wall.

True but it's not nice to see your son get told he has to change jobs, at 27, because of an accident that happened two years ago. He has a physical job. He needs two functioning wrists. He has one now and that's all he will ever have, according to the surgeon.

We'll be helping him in going through training for a new trade (electrician). His current employers/slave drivers are going to be seriously narked when he quits.

Serves them right. They should have looked after him better.

Still, it'll give him more time to go snowboarding:unsure:
