A. The criminals involved.
If the author doesn't write it then the dimwitted accomplice doesn't go to jail, the old man gets to live out his years in relative comfort and the taxpayer isn't stuck with the bill for the imprisonment. The only people involved who are unaffected either way are the criminals involved. Censorship isn't an issue here, I'm not suggesting that there should be a Ministry of What's In The Papers, just that it would have be better for the world if the story had never been published.

Oh, and for the umpteenth time, the NHS is only peripherally involved here. He wasn't "dumped on the NHS".

Of course it is.
The argument you make is that events happened but the greater good dictates that they need not be made public.
Others would argue that this argument is false.
To consider not publishing information that others consider important amounts to censorship.

You are correct in thinking that someone walking on to the porch causes a stampede; cats one way, dogs the other.

I haven't seen a proper chain yanking on here for a while.

You should see the horses when they have a kick boxing morning. Racing and rearing and bucking at each other; it's like when we were kids and Dad took us to Kilburn at closing time to watch the fights.
