Best City in the World

Re: Best City in the World
I think the point is that religion here affects political policy in a sort of "US lite" way, whereas UK politics and religion rarely intersect. In the US the republicans are sometimes seen as the political wing of the christian fundamentalists. Its not quite that bad here, but its heading that way a little.

I cant be arsed to argue with you. You are right, about everything. I was totally mistaken that the US republican party is in any way beholden to the more extreme views of the evangelical christian movement in the States, on subjects such as gay marriage, abortion rights etc etc, and besides, everything posted on an online discussion forum should always be taken deadly serious and at face value and disected in the most minute detail...
Can we get back to discussing Vancouver again now?

Tans-national corporate interests, but essentially the same. Issues of morality are forwarded to keep the attention of the public. There's a similar relationship between television programmes and advertising.

Would Ambre-Solair be an example of a 'Tans-national' corporation then?

I got the race and sexuality issue, I couldn't see how religion was the same (if the arguments of posters on here are correct), so I asked about politics which, it seems to me, is based on choice.
We then went onto the religious affliations of political parties but then I got the impression I was being called an argumentative bugger so I stopped. Would you like to continue?

That sounds way too clever to me.
