A bear in the neighbourhood!

Hot news from Aurora - a black bear has wandered into town and last I heard, was up a tree in a back yard!

Now before everyone says "so" - this is the 'burbs of Toronto, we don't get bears and really I am amazed one turned up in downtown Aurora.

Anyone else had unexpected "visitors" in their neighbourhoods?

Should I post the video of the bear wandering through my back yard again, or are you all bored of that now?

A few weeks ago my friends' dog began acting agitated late at night. She then heard a noise outside her back yard and when she investigated it (from indoors, switching on patio lights) a bear had tipped over her green bin and was eating the food waste. Her dog ran straight to the bedroom and hid.

She lives less than 1 mile out of town (Trenton, NS).

If we go for option B, does that also cover Christmas decorations, skeetervacs and thermometers?

Happy belated birthday, BTW.

PS Can we swap Skeetervacs because last year we only lured a few biters into ours and the other thousand or so were buzzing around my garden humming "nah nah na nah na"...............

Going off topic (like that never happens here) Try fiddling with the bait settings, give it a good vacuuming (the inside can clog), and Ive had to replace an "engine" in the time Ive had mine to get it working again too:(

Getting off topic - Sandbanks was full!!!!! Just wanted to be near the wine tasting area (ish) so this seemed like a good option!

There's wine making in Quinte?

Well, have fun anyway.

If you happen to be nearby and have a park pass anyway, North Beach might be worth checking out. Too cold to swim though this early, but its where we usually go later in the summer. Day trips only though, there is no camping there.

Prince Edward County is getting quite a reputation.... small volume so far, but there are probably 20 or so wineries now in the bit that sticks out into the lake, and a tourist trade to go with it.

Its recently been given its own VQA designation I believe

Meaningless. Just because it's consistent, doesn't mean it's any good.

We used to buy a Niagara red from a concession at the Loblaws in Oakville. It was discontinued and replaced with a more expensive VQA version that was consistently foul.
