Kinder Morgan has a right of way from 50 years ago but unfortunately, a lot has changed since then. Like development.
The City of Burnaby is opposed. Can they build a pipeline if the city refuses building permits? |
Re: BC Provincial Election
For me the right party got in and can actually get more done with a majority - would be even better if they got rid of Christy and picked a new leader that actually won their riding though.
As for the Greens, I had to laugh at their radio ads "we know we can't win and the NDP is going to win the election so vote for us to be the opposition" - would you vote for a party that concedes that they can't win? Hilarious. |

Re: BC Provincial Election
Well yes, but municipalities only have power at the whim of the provincial government and cannot block the provincial government's will.

Re: BC Provincial Election
I think that Kinder Morgan is more or less a done deal, whereas the gateway project is far from certain.
Edit: And that's exactly what JonboyE said... doh! |

I know it's tempting for Albertans to see this as a referendum on the pipeline(s) - it's not.

http://business.financialpost.com/20..._lsa=844c-dc61 LNG is not Oil. |
Re: BC Provincial Election
I don't have an issue with LNG, I do with bitumen. It's bitumen those pipes will carry from the Tar Sands, not oil.

Having said that, if we want to use oil products we have to accept there is a risk in transporting them and focus on minimising that risk (not rejecting it). |

Thanks, but ExKiwi was contrasting bitumen with oil so I was wondering why the distinction ?
