BC Provincial Election

Early days yet but wow, I didn't see this.

I can't vote, but not happy the liberals won. I predict more cuts to healthcare and mental health, social services and such.

I think the NDP made a mistake by not going negative in their ads like the liberals did, being positive in politics never works...lol

It is more about whos less bad at the job than the others. Not thrilled with any of them, but the NDP getting in scared the hell out of me. It would be financial suicide for BC. All the spending they promised, who is going to pay for it - we all would one way or the other.

It doesn't surprise me. People who vote to the right either lie or don't say who they are voting for to a larger extent than the left. Pollsters in the UK have compensated for this since Kinnock lost in the 90's and haven't been wrong since.

I hope David Eby wins though.

Me too. She'll get back in but it'll clip her wings somewhat.

Plus the bloodletting in the NDP will be hilarious.

Also, all those lib MLA's who quit cos they thought they were gonna lose must feel pretty stupid now.

Its a bit galling though with the Liberals banging on about free markets and the economy when they allow the old chestnut of government monopolies of the car insurance and booze sector.

Okay, looking firmly on the positive side:

A woman premier was elected

An independent (Delta South) female candidate was re-elected

Greens got their first MLA
