Default BC Gas Price

I haven't filled up in a few weeks, went to the pump last night in Kamloops and paid $1.36

What's the price where you are?

Aye it might be more expensive in Blighty, but you use about half the amount (or less)...

My truck does about 16 miles per UK gallon...

[fortunately someone else pays for it!!]

I hear this on here all the time.

Do people really live that much further from where they work, or does everyone simply drive huge vehicles?

I now drive a 1600 cc Fiesta whereas, in England, I drove a similar sized Rover 214. Distance travelled is about the same (it was far less when I lived in Calgary) and I can't imagine that my Fiesta is much less fuel efficient that my Rover was. In fact, it's probably the exact opposite.

Huge vehicles...here's your truck. Marvel at its 5.7L V8 engine!

Ironically I only do about 25,000KM per year over here - I did about 30,000 MILES per year (or more!!) in the UK - one company car I had managed 72,000 miles in 18 months...

I have one of those too, but it is used for specific purposes, not as a daily commuter.

I had to give up comfort of a car because of gas prices and increased insurance.

But I suppose the upside is a scooter only costs about $60/month to operate with gas and insurance combined vs several hundred a month for a car.

16 km one way.

By car avg of 35 mins to work and 25 going home.

Scooter is about 5 mins slower on avg.

The Mazda 2 used about a tank a week and current prices would be around $50 per week and insurance was $165 per month or so and there was a small loan on the car so a monthly payment as well.

Quite a shock to see gas prices in Quebec and Ontario over the last 2 weeks, and then come back to Vancouver prices!
