Battle of the Blades
Anyone else watching this? A bit cheesy, I admit, but quite a fun concept. The idea of Probert (6' 3" and notorious enforcer) dancing on ice with Lenko
(5' 2" and an ice dancer) amuses me. And it's for charity.

"Skating around the stars" as I like to call it. (youve noticed the female partners are doing all the fancy work)
Its cheesy in the best CBC tradition, but its kind of fun. Shame they couldnt find a male figure skater to skate rings around a female hockey player, as it is the format looks a little sexist.

I wonder what will follow? Screamers and Mexican lesbians on ice?

Well, I thought there was going to be a bit of blubbing when whathisname was eliminated yesterday...he was on the verge, and the producer/ director was obviously in no hurry to focus in on that or press harder for more reaction...no one wants to see their hockey heros reduced to blubbing in "reality" TV it seems

You would prefer what? "Battle of the wandering apostrophe's"?

I'm sorry, I see it as yet another example of the 'dumbing down' of television these days. I do wish such productions would wander off along with your apostrophe's...

It they had done it with dwarfs and put a few obstacles in the way, that would've made for a better programme.

Re: Battle of the Blades
No violence (unusual for a Tie Domi appearance)
No swearing
No vulgarity
No one being humiliated in the name of reality TV
For prime time TV here that all comes as a welcome relief to be honest. People are assessed on their actual talent and ability to perform under pressure in front of a crown and the cameras. It could be a lot worse in my opinion.

I thought it a reasonable stab at "Family Entertainment"
No violence (unusual for a Tie Domi appearance)
No swearing
No vulgarity
No one being humiliated in the name of reality TV
