Is the Bar under new management? It's been shut for ages. Perhaps Kate will call in - she used to be the life and soul of the place on a Friday night:)

I'll have a large glass of red wine please:drinkwine:

Q: What's the difference between writing and drinking?
A: In drinking, the last draft is the rough one.

Finally - after trawling through the whole place I might have found a bar that is open.

Do you guys in Canada have cider because that is one thing that I cannot get here?

Can I have a pint if you've got it please?

I'll happily swap Chianti for cider.

Used to drink Strongbow - sister made me try Magners at Xmas. I liked it but not the price of it.

You could probably have 2 bottles of Chianti for one of Magners.

That's more than a fair swap methinks.

Cheers - salute - slainte

Maybe somebody could set up a BE swap shop.

I'd happily post something Italian to somebody if they would post me a good book in English. I don't even care if they are well read. I need books in English and the few I can get here are all about £12 each - even the skinny slim books that I can finish in an hour.

I can read Italian - not the same thing at all

I could post out dried porcini mushrooms and stuff to people because they are cheaper here and other people could post t- bags to me that cost a fortune here. The postage and weight would be more or less the same.

Decent tea bags and a paperback.

Not sure about what else Canada has to offer in the way of light posting, ie, just sticking something in a jiffy bag.

You can leave the moose there thanks. Not sure my neighbours would appreciate one in the back garden.

There are no Brit t-bags here. Only crap like Liptons and Italian Star Thè.
Oh we get Twinings but far far too expensive.

I'm not keen on maple syrup but I have an Italian friend that lived in Montreal for 5 years (that's probably why she's such a good friend - not too Italian mamma type and all that) and she loves it.

Nobody knows why it's hard to get hold of here. She makes me bring her some back each time I go back to the Uk.

That's the one thing I would not ask for - Yorkshire tea.

I hail from Yorkshire but I can't stand that brand of tea.

My friend promised to bring me back a Mountie when she went to BC last year, unfortunately she couldn't fit him in her case because of the bear and the airline wouldn't let him travel on her OH's ticket....

She's a bit miffed cos that meant she had to bring the OH back with her:rofl:
