Bacon

Found this stuff at the supermarket the other day, I'm sure I've looked for back bacon before but this is the first time I've found any that looked decent. Usually go to the butcher's. Haven't actually tried eating it yet, although I was a bit non-plussed by the "from Ireland", "product of USA" markings.

It's not bad. Not a great deal of taste, but still better than the standard streaky fatty stuff.

Oh do keep up at the back. Some of us have been eating that for months!
It's OK, not brilliant, but the best widely available bacon substitute that I've found in 7 years of living here.

As per the last thread, I think we decided the meat came from Ireland but was cured in US, using a method from England (hence the Wiltshire label)
I quite like it, but hubby likes the bacon from the Scottish butcher in Elbow Drive (McEwans) if you haven't tried going there .....

Thrifty's do an Ayreshire bacon that is very similar to UK bacon. They file it with the ham and gammon though instead of the bacon.
