Baby Formula
#1
Hey, this is such a random question.. not sure if this is the right spot to post it or if anyone will be able to help!
I have an 18 month old daughter, who is still drinking baby formula (3 or 4 full bottles a day) I brought a couple of days worth over with me (we just got here on Thursday) the lady in customs was nice enough to let me keep it (I didnt use my brain properly and think this counted as a milk product - which is not aloud?!)
Just to make life more interesting, my daughter is a bit picky and only likes the pre-mixed formula (not the powder) in the UK she was drinking SMA, aptimal or Cow and Gate... and we were giving her the toddler version...
now my problem, I went to walmart yesterday to take a look and get something similar. O M G! the selection was mind staggering! I came away with similac formula, but its 0+ months, I was really hoping to find something for 12 months +.
has anyone else looked into this? any advice would be appreciated.

No idea on Canada, but in the US, the big brands are Enfamil and Similac.
Though there are plenty of others and they all have loads of different types from premie to toddler rage, dairy free, lactose, rice, what ever kind you might be looking for.
In the US, it's all FDA controlled though, so basically they're all the same, so get whatever is cheapest in the bulk stores.
Might have more luck looking through something like Babies R Us to see them all in one area and then getting what you end up preferring where ever and you could always ask for a sample, often they'll have samples you can get for free, and doctors offices too.

You could try superstore, I thnk they do the premixed stuff there and it comes in little bottles. Its their own make and supposedly made by similac

Some of the pre-mixed stuff comes ready made in tins as well. Its called Good Start if I remember right - available in supermarkets and wal mat pretty easily.

Full milk is likely the best option, i switched to that at 1 year. 3.25% homogonized milk does the trick. Doesnt give them as stinky gas either

thanks for all the replies. I think I was just shocked as to all the options. I found a brand that had what I was looking for... I think it was good start. it was for toddlers, in cans, perfect I was really excited then I noticed the 2 options to chose from where "less iron" or "more iron" and that freaked me out a bit lol, I dont know if she needs less or more?!?! so I just got the 0+ baby one for now. Im trying to switch her to whole milk bit Im doing it slowly. Im not sure it agrees with her, so am trying to not give her a whole lot all at once.
thanks again! I may call my old Dr that I used to see when I lived here before and just ask her about this more or less iron thing
