Authentic Chinese takeaway food in Vancouver.
Just found an excellent Chinese takeaway restaurant in Vancouver that delivers great Chinese food. It's called The Hot and Tasty Chinese Food Hot Delivery on Cambie St. and 14th St. The reason I bring this up on this forum is that you can get Chinese chips and curry sauce, plus prawn crackers, how more authentic get you get? I wouldn't have expected that from here. They even serve cheese burgers and fish and chips. Apart from the smallish pancake rolls, it's just like being back home. Excellent food, large portions, fast delivery and a good price. Just remember to ask about the free wonton soup or chicken fried rice if you spend over a certain amount. I didn't and I felt a little ripped off. But if I could been just watching the Bill and drinking cans of Stella, what a night it could have been. They have a website but I don't want to contravene any site rules so you'll have to do some sleuthing.

If you fancy Indonesian the Pondok on west Broadway is as good as you will get in Indonesia. We love it and eat there every time we stay over in Vancouver.

Do they do chicken with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts? Never found it here and was one of my faves when needed more than chips and curry sauce.

Not particularly. Lately some have been casting aspersions on the veracity of my contributions so I thought I'd be especially helpful in this post. I'm sure I'm not the only one that finds North American Chinese takeaways too ethnic for their tastes. So, coming across an essentially British Chinese place I thought was note worthy to our expat community.
