FOOTBALL RULES CRICKET'S FOR FOOLS

I for one do not want to see Ian Bell back in the side. Any vague pressure and he may aswell wrap up his wicket and hand the present to the Australians at the start of the match.

Me too. He's awful, ditto for Wright. Don't think much of Bopara either would like to see Robert Key at three.

Otherwise, what - a recall for Vaughan? He's had a good run of domestic form this summer, I gather.

Hmmm - Bopara was less than convincing at Lord's, by all accounts. Not sure he's genuine Test No 3 material yet, despite his IPL form. I think he'll keep his place, though, especially if there are injury worries elsewhere in the squad. Flintoff will in all likelihood be fit for the third Test, according to press reports. KP is a bit more doubtful, which leaves a rather large gap at No 4, unless you slot Key in or put Bopara there with Key in at 3.

Just watched Flintoff on news at 10 and he said it would take something spectacular to keep him out of the next test!

He wouldn't be the first recently-retired-from-internationals cricketer to be persuaded back into the breach in a domestic series. Otherwise, given all the pre-series warmup games, it looks as though Ian Bell would be the natural KP replacement rather than Robert Key.

Ian Bell seems the favourite annoyingly.
The man they need back has got to be Marcus Trescothick!!!

Great session this morning 7 wickets for 77 runs- dare I give it the kiss of death and say: England could actually win back to back tests against the Aussies?

Bell is a lucky lad. That was out.
Bopara crap again.
Onions and Anderson bowled well.
England with noses in front but weather not looking good for tomorrow.

I think we are relying on a Strauss century and a couple of quick 30's from Flintoff and Prior which should see us get our noses in front once the tailenders go out and have a swing. I sense another nail biter- although I am down to my fingers- ouch!

With the washout today I doubt we'll get a result. Shame as Anderson and Onions bowling deserved something. Apparently Bumble is feeling under the weather, probably a dodgy jalfrezi.
