Default Artisan wells

Can anyone offer any advice or info on artisan water wells in Canada.
We are not on mains and this well water is driving me nuts. Are we supposed to put some sort of treatment into it.As ours seems to be turning white clothing brown and yellow.
Helllp!!!

Sounds like you need to put an iron filter on your main supply line.

Maybe the rustic look is added by the artisan.

See, that's typical of Steve_P. He quietly corrected the schoolboy howler spelling of artesian without drawing attention to it and then followed with sensible, practical advice.

Props to Steve.

You don't need to put anything down the well but it sounds as though you might well (no pun intended) need some treatment/filtrattion to remove Iron Sulphides. Filtration ranges from 'buy it at Home Depot' for $100 to systems costing several thousand. I suggest you look for a water treatment specialist nearby & perhaps talk to your neighbours and see whether they have had similar problems & if so what they've done about it.

I think finding a water specialist will be my best bet. My neighbour is in her
80's and is only french speaking - I don't think my french will stretch that far.
Too complicated.

My daughter in law's Dad has a company that looks after problems such as this:

http://www.ruralwater.ca/

only trouble is its in Regina.

However, there are probably other companies that take care of rust problems in rural water supplies. I note that they have customers in BC. Perhaps they will sell to any province. I will ask.

Thanks lizwil98
Not too popular at the moment, my son's chef jackets are not quite the colour he wants them to be. 1smudgy brown and the other yellowish.
