Anyone in Vancouver?

Well I decided after the success of meeting expats in the States through this site I would try to get a group together who live in Vancouver.
As this is now a permanent move for us and it does not seem so easy to meet people and I thought there maybe others in the same boat.
So the idea of trying to start a social group to do anything from snowshoeing, hiking, having a meal, coffee or just meeting up for a walk..

(Hopefully I have placed this in the right place)

We are Downtown, I started
"The Downtown Vancouver Social Club" on Facebook as a public group and was trying to get that going so thought this maybe a good way to recruit
(It is of course not in anyway essential to live Downtown to be a part of it)

It sounds like a good idea. Though I have to say I've never actually met up with anyone off the interweb before!

Will Lululemon yoga pants be mandatory or optional for any meet ups?

It goes something like this. Lots of people complain about a lack of "pub culture" in Vancouver, and that they are missing the "British sense of humour." A newbie arrives and says, "let's arrange a knees up somewhere." "Yes, let's," dozens of people reply, "we'll come."
Newbie thinks this is great, but this many people will take over the pub. Newbie books a function room in a downtown pub. Newbie starts a thread encouraging everyone to say they are coming. Lots do.
Over the next few weeks the thread has lots of posts, mostly of the, "damn, something has come up, I can't make it'" type.
Come the night of the knees up newbie and a solitary friend spend a quiet evening in a huge expensive function room looking, to all the world, like Billy-no-mates.
