I don't mind the end of summer so much - I just hope we have a proper autumn this year - last year's got snowed out!

I can well believe it. We did much of our Christmas shopping in CT a couple of years back. In September. Souvette's family all got garden furniture, obtained at much reduced prices.

I would not be surprised to see Fall come very early this year. Normally, the Fall colours are meant to be in the first two weeks of October. I can see the trees being bare by then. That may well be because Summer started very early and we've had a lot of rain. A lot of vegetation has probably done most of the growing it wants to do this year. My apple tree has already finished with apples, the clematis has very few blooms left and the vine has more than a few red leaves. If we get much more rain, coupled with a frost or two (quite possible as nighttime temps are getting pretty low), that could be game over. This is the first time I can remember sitting outside at night in mid-August with a coat on.

We aim to go East one year and see the autumn colours - not too many maples in Alberta!

No sign of autumn here in our neighborhood the raspberries are just finishing, the apples in our yard are just ripening nicely be ready anytime, the crabapples will be at least another month yet and everything else is nice and green.

However the Sears Christmas Wishbook (catalog) arrived on our doorstep this weekend.

We've had our first frost forecast and there is a definate chill in the air that wasn't there 10 days ago. I am so NOT ready for snow!

You should bring some warm clothes. September is usually nice during the day but it cools off sharply when the sun goes down.
