I don't think you have to worry about the minority either since you live in Manitoba.

True.

This subject has been going on for years now, one of the most novel ideas I heard was bullet control whereby the bullets are priced astronomically high to discourage the user wasting ammunition and ultimately make it harder to go on a mass shooting spree.

There was also talk of selling bullets on the cheap through a hunting licence which would then log the amount of bullets bought and the hunter would return his empties/unused bullets or face a fine.

But like I said they have been talking for a long time but unfortunately the reality is nothing will change until the culture has been removed, that's the true question is how do you change a countries culture.

It's like trying to ban the consumption of tea in the UK - never going to happen.

that doesn't stop people loading their own shells, lots of people do - so they'd have to stop selling the empy casings and all the rigmarole that goes with reloading your own (or whatever its called).

Yes, you must be right again. As we live in Canada we don't really have the right to an opinion!

You know this pretty much sums up my view. Is it sad that americans seem to like shooting each other? Yes, but I don't live there so I don't really care very much beyond 'oh look, another crazy'

Don't get all touchy. Of course you're entitled to an opinion, it's just that its effectively meaningless as you don't live there or vote by proxy. Whether Americans have guns or not is bugger all to do with anyone else really.

Especially children and that there was a British kid that was killed. But yes, if they want to shoot each other then that's their pigeon.

They are missong out on a commercial opportunity. They should start up a chain of "My First AK47" stores. After all, if those kindergargen kids had been properly tooled up they could have wasted the crazy before he did too much damage.

That point of view would make The Maple Leaf pretty redundant unless of course a poster was directly affected or the subject of the post happened to occur in one's chosen province .

You know, if some RW nut jobs in the US get their way this world might not be too far away - just teachers instead of kids: http://mobile.rawstory.com/therawsto...fc7b5670aecd8c.

Ohh I'm not so sure, the latest hint of a ban or limits on assault rifles and bulk ammunition holders has created a surge in sales, this puts more of these types of weapons and the fittings that allow there rapid bulk firing into the public domain, thus increasing the risk that they may fall into the hands of somebody that has fallen through the very wide cracks in the US’s mental health care system..

It's sick full stop those poor kids who watched it all happen are going to remember this forever.
Guns in my personal view should be banned and I'm not going to argue with anyone on this point today is really not the day.
My heart goes out to everyone affected by this.

100% agree with this, great post. My kids are 6 & 7. I can't even think about this tragedy for too long without the tears coming :(

My twin daughters are 3, if it happened in their school when they're older I would lose my family then and there.

Doesn't bear to think about. :(

Big words Alan, but, I can't believe that an incident such as this one did not effect you or anyone emotionally, even if it is just a quite Thought or reflection.

Actually, it didn't and I have to admit that this type of reaction really pisses me off.

What about what is happening in Syria at the moment? What about what is happening all over the world that the rest of the world turns away from? What about what happened in Rwanda, the former Yugoslavia or any other trouble zone around the world?

A few Americans die and the world acts as if the world is coming to an end. It's their crazy beliefs and their crazy laws that enable such atrocities to happen. They then expect the rest of the world to actually give a shit, when they treat the rest of the world like shit the rest of the time.

I appreciate the children were innocent, I am not a heartless pig, but if I wish to get upset about how terrible life is, I wouldn't think about Americans shooting one another.

Well you must go around in a state of disbelief then. I know this is sad on an intellectual level, but I'm not about to start blubbing or go into mourning for complete strangers.
