Yes, if the teacher had been armed, and perhaps the kids too (at least some of them) the whole incident could have been avoided.

They should make the children wear blazers with incorporated body armour, that would cut down on the fatalities. Sod the teachers, we've got a bit of glut anyway.

So it's really all a job creation scheme?

I'm not condoning this, but if the nut jobs could just target the old, grumpy and expensive teachers we could bypass the union. Again, that would be very distasteful.
