Default Another disgrace....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7429638.stm

As Saturday night wore on, eyewitnesses described how drunken partygoers began fighting and vomiting, ripping up maps and adverts, and leaving spilled alcohol and debris everywhere.

It's certainly harder to dismiss the old country gone to the dogs stance when things like this happen.

Doubtless there will be those claiming exaggeration, but to me, it's more about the attitudes of some (and a significant number); that they come first and don't give a shit about others.

Not really, smashing up trains is a long standing tradition, "Football Specials" was the term for vandalized trains when I was a kid. Unless you mean that the country has gone to the dogs because you can't drink on buses anymore, there's some merit in that argument.

While there's some truth in that, it wasn't usually done by people of a completely different 'appearance' carrying champagne or wine bottles and drinking from glasses.

That's a bit different from beer fuelled thugs.

Or maybe it's not so different and that's why it's more of a concern.

I was on a coach in Germany and they actually sold you beer on the bus. There's a lot we can learn from our Sauerkraut-munching friends.
