Re: Another Cheese Thread, the best in the world
This will piss the French off or other countries who snub their noses at Canadian cheese
QUICK FACTS: • There are over 200 cheese makers in Canada. • These cheese makers produce more than 350 different cheeses. • 98 per cent of Canadians eat cheese regularly. • Canadians consume 11.58 kg of cheese per person: - 36.1 per cent in Ontario - 27.1 per cent in Quebec - 18.9 per cent in the Prairies - 12.5 per cent in British Columbia - 5.4 per cent in the Maritimes Gold Cheese or Stilton Cheese For some time, gold has only been used to adorn ourselves with dazzling jewelry. This time, some company made it possible for gold to be edible. Dubbed as the world’s most expensive cheese, Foodie’s Cheese managed to whip up an intriguing cheese variety especially made for the holiday season. It is called Stilton Cheese with real gold flakes. The gold is completely edible, so patrons who are curious need not worry about grubbing the gold down. The cheese is priced at $2064 per pound. http://www.therichest.com/luxury/mos...-in-the-world/ |

Edible gold has been around for donkeys years - I used to use it to decorate my Indian desserts back in the 80's. It's used in baking as well.

Most of my Canadian cheese complaints are from the fact that it's all from Pasturized milk, so whatever you do to it it just doesn't develop a depth of flavour. My grandmother was from Melton Mobray, and she won awards for her Stilton making....and regretably I didn't know her much...she never shared the secret of her success and I am just like the rest of you...looking for a decent cheese at a reasonable price:thumbdown: |

Sort of like a Louis Vuitton or Hermes handbag you women still lose sh** in those the same as a bag bought from Bentley.
Personally, I've never paid more than $30 for a handbag in my life and never will, it just isn't that important to me. A bag is a bag. ;) |
