Sorry folks, looked around the Wiki and previous threads, but unable to find an answer to my question. I will bring a LR defender to canada, possibly one older than 15 years old - that is not the problem.
But, I am considering buying a fairly new LHD model and bringing that instead, what rate of tax would I have to pay on it, and can anyone see any problems with the importation of it. It will go in the 40ft container that brings my household goods over.
I am aware of the soil problems, so would have it steam cleaned before importing it, anything else? thanks again, fletch

Thanks FL, a very thorough reply. Looks like an old one then.
Cheers Jb, I am sure your reply meant the same thing, I would have had to look it up though! Again, thanks to you both.

No can do on a Defender under 15 years, which is a shame. I've idly contemplated bringing an older one over but I suspect it would be very rewarding for my mechanic and very costly for me.
