Another bacon thread.....

We have just discovered (what I think is) the best, (most yummiest) bacon since arriving in Calgary. It is quite thick and reminds me of some delicious farmhouse bacon I once had at a B&B in Bath many years ago .....

We found it at the Bearspaw Farmers market, sold as English Bacon, and it is produced by Spraggs Meats, based at Rosemary, Alberta.

Here is their web-site: http://www.spraggsmeatshop.com/

They visit all the local farmers with their free range pork products, and their locations and days are on the web-site.

Enjoy!

Perhaps we'll try some, if we ever use up this stock of "Presidents Choice" brand stuff we have in the freezer.

I thought the Presidents Choice was quite nice, but no comparison to this. Also, this bacon is not frozen ... maybe that's another reason it tastes better??

It is in the non-frozen section.

If you're referring to my comment we put in the freezer when we got home.;)

While it looks very tasty, one bloody farmers market in the middle of nowhere is no good for rest of us, is it? It's just boosting.

Do they have any politically-incorrect bacon?

Sod the sweet shop I wish there was an English beer shop. There's only so much Boddies and Stella you can drink beofre you get bored.

Winter Ale is usually pretty close to Worthingtons Creamflow which I used to have back in the UK. They've got some cracking beers on Granville Island.
