Amazon Prime video now available in Canada

As of this morning Amazon Prime Video is available to us Canadian residents. Cost is $79 p.a. which gets you Amazon prime benefits on shipping in addition to the actual video content. Except if you live in Newfoundland or other similar such far flung parts of Canada where the two day shipping - the raison d'etre of Prime - is not available. So it then becomes $79 just for the video. Is the Grand Tour worth that much? (hint.. fmovies.to) Like Netflix, you can also download content to watch later offline which is useful when travelling.

Amazon's schtick is sign up for Amazon prime & you get the video streaming service plus other Prime benefits, the key on being expedited shipping on physical deliveries. For me, signing up to to Prime only gets me the video and no expedited shipping.

It doesn't seem like any kind of an offer. Most retailers offer two day shipping to ON (for example, I had a pair of boots delivered on Tuesday past after ordering them on Sunday). Internet video content, including The Grand Tour, is available for free from a variety of sources.
$79 would pay for a Costco membership and, according to that thread, a sausage lunch for the whole family. I shan't give $79 to Amazon.
